The Btx Smile
Procedure: 10 minutes. Between 3 to 6 Btx injections are placed superficially into surface of the upper lip. Patients will generally notice the results within 2 weeks.

A gummy smile is a common condition affecting more women than men. It is characterised by an excessive display of the gum when we smile.
In some, it can be a severe socially disabling condition and can also impact on the overall facial aesthetics of an otherwise attractive individual. Most women with this condition shy away from having their photos taken and are too self conscious to smile.
The Btx smile is yet another pioneering innovation by Dr Steven Liew. It is the fourth part of his "Botox: Beyond Wrinkles", lecture series.
While Btx has been used to treat this condition in the past, Dr Liew believes the earlier techniques tend to restrict and distort the smile.
Dr Liew has revolutionised the non surgical treatment of gummy smile with his new technique where a few superficial injections of Btx are placed along the upper part of the lip.
This procedure not only masks the gummy smile – without restricting or distorting the smile – it also thickens the red part of the lip, especially on its periphery, giving the lip a fuller, more attractive shape without the use of dermal filler.
