Breast Reduction

Large breasts that are out of proportion with the body can cause both pain and embarrassment.

Breast reduction surgery - reduction mammoplasty - aims to give you smaller, firmer breasts that are of a better shape and form. It also aims to better complement your body, improve posture and perhaps most importantly, boost confidence and self-esteem. This allows more choice of clothing as well as better fitted bra.

Advances in surgical techniques also means a good surgeon is no longer constrained by the existing shape of the breast. Instead, breast tissue can be manipulated to a more flattering, longer lasting breast shape. Breast reduction surgery also reduces the size of the areola (darker skin surrounding the nipple) to better match the new breasts.

Today, with improved surgical techniques, breast reduction surgery in most cases can be performed with a more discrete, shorter vertical scar.
