Are there risks associated with lip lift surgery?
All surgical procedures carry inherent risks. Potential complications associated with lip lift surgery may include infection, bleeding, delayed wound healing, scarring, asymmetry, sensory changes, and dissatisfaction with aesthetic outcome. These risks will be discussed in detail during a consultation with your Specialist Plastic Surgeon to assist in informed decision-making.
Is lip lift surgery associated with pain?
Lip lift procedures are typically performed under local anaesthesia, which minimises intraoperative discomfort. Patients may experience temporary sensations such as pressure or tightness during the procedure. Postoperative discomfort, described by some as a mild burning or sore sensation, is usually transient and may be managed with analgesia as directed by your surgeon.
Are there non-surgical alternatives to a lip lift?
Non-surgical medical aesthetic approaches may offer temporary enhancement of lip contour and position. These options may be appropriate for select individuals and will be discussed during a consultation, based on individual anatomy and treatment goals.
