Otoplasty Sydney

About the treatment

Ear correction surgery or otoplasty is usually done on patients who have prominent ears and wish to have them moved closer to the head. Otoplasty can also be done to reduce the size of large ears.

A skillfully performed otoplasty can have immediate and dramatic results for those people who have ears that stick—out or a range of other deformities.

Results

Otoplasty or Pinnaplasty aims to correct prominent or protruding ears, defects and deformities of the ear. Otoplasty procedures can be performed at any age. However, they should only be done when the cartilage has stabilised or the ear is fully grown—generally, between 5 and 10 years of age.

The procedure aims to create optimal alignment for the ear positioning, so they neither protrude nor appear excessively pinned back.
