What is RF Microneedling?

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that combines microneedling with controlled radiofrequency energy. The treatment uses very fine needles to deliver energy beneath the surface of the skin. This approach may help improve the appearance of skin texture, tone, and firmness.

How Does Morpheus8 Work?

Morpheus8 is an RF microneedling device designed to deliver energy at varying depths beneath the skin. Unlike traditional microneedling, which focuses only on the surface, RF microneedling combines needling with radiofrequency energy to target deeper layers. This may support improvements in the appearance of uneven texture, tone, or laxity over time.

What Concerns May It Help With?

Morpheus8 may help improve the visible appearance of:

  • fine lines
  • uneven skin texture
  • enlarged pores
  • superficial scarring*
  • changes in firmness on the face, neck, or body

*Suitability for scarring depends on type and severity, and will be assessed during consultation.

Features of Morpheus8

  • Minimally invasive procedure compared to surgical options
  • Adjustable treatment depths to suit different areas and skin types
  • Suitable for a range of skin tones
  • May support gradual improvements in skin appearance over multiple sessions

RF Microneedling: Post-Care and Treatment Expectations

Proper aftercare is important to support safe recovery following radiofrequency microneedling. Experiences differ between individuals, and side effects such as redness, swelling, bruising, or sensitivity are common in the first few days. Your practitioner will provide personalised instructions suited to your skin and treatment plan.

General Post-Care Tips

  • Apply a cold compress or ice pack to the treated area for 15–20 minutes at a time to help reduce swelling or discomfort.
  • Cleanse the skin gently twice daily with a mild, non-irritating cleanser. Avoid harsh cleansers, scrubs, or exfoliants.
  • Keep the skin well hydrated with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure and always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 50+) once the skin has healed sufficiently, as advised by your practitioner.
  • Refrain from hot showers, saunas, or strenuous exercise for the first 48–72 hours.

Disclaimer

Temporary redness, swelling, or bruising are normal and usually resolve within several days, but recovery times vary. Less common side effects, such as pigment changes or infection, will be discussed during your consultation. A follow-up appointment may be recommended to monitor healing and plan ongoing care. Refrain from wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after the treatment to minimise irritation. Avoid direct sun exposure for at least one week post-treatment. Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher when outdoors.
