Upper Eyelift for Hollow Eyes in Sydney

About the treatment

The eyes are often the first feature to show signs of ageing and distort our whole appearance. There are typically two different ageing patterns in the upper eyelids at play. They either collapse and droop or lose volume.

For people with droopy eyelids, surgery to remove excess skin is the best option. (blepharoplasty: refer to surgical section for details). However, for those with sunken, hollow eyelids, brow lift or eyelift surgery can worsen the appearance by creating a higher brow arch without restoring the curvature of the eyelid. Realising there was a need for a non surgical option, Dr Liew has pioneered the world’s first non-surgical eye lift*. This non-surgical ‘eyelift’ adds volume to the upper eyelid and eyebrow by combining new generation gel products.

The results can last from two to four years and whilst this procedure involves no anaesthesia and no incisions with little to no downtime, it carries more risk and should be performed by a highly qualified practitioner with demonstrated experience treating this area.

*This pioneering technique by Dr Liew has been published in the peer-reviewed scientific journal, Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Oct 2010.

What are hollow eyes?

Hollow eyes, also known as sunken eyes, refer to the appearance of darkened and recessed skin beneath the lower eyelids, making the eyes appear deeper set within their sockets.

What causes hollow eyes?

Age: As we age, we naturally lose collagen and elastin, proteins that plump and support our skin. This loss of volume can lead to the appearance of hollowness under the eyes.
Genetics: Some individuals are genetically predisposed to having deeper set eyes or thinner skin under the eyes, making them more susceptible to appearing hollow.
Nutritional deficiencies: Deficiencies in vitamins, such as K, C, and E, or iron, can contribute to under-eye darkness and hollowness.
Sun damage: Sun exposure can damage the delicate skin around the eyes, accelerating collagen loss and worsening the appearance of hollow eyes.

What are the risks of non-surgical eye lift?

A non surgical eyelift is a very advanced non surgical procedure. It requires a practitioner with a high level of skill and experience in treating this area. Risks include the following:

  • Blindness
  • Vascular Occlusions
  • Damage to the eyelid muscles
  • Incorrect placement of the product
