Gel Treatment Sydney

About Gel Treatments

As we age, we begin losing volume in the face, which contributes to folds and wrinkles. Using advanced techniques and the highest quality materials, Dr Liew and his team of practitioners use gel treatments for their versatility in treating the face at all ages.

WHAT ARE GEL TREATMENTS?

Gel treatments are aesthetic gel-based cosmetic treatments. They are a practical, non-surgical method designed to soften creases and folds, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and increase or restore volume to the face. Different grades of gel are used to treat different areas of the face, such as the lips, cheeks and under the eyes. At Shape Clinic, we only use the highest quality hyaluronic acid based gels: those that are scientifically proven, medically safe, biodegradable and reasonably long-lasting.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TARGETED WITH GEL TREATMENTS?

With age, elastin and collagen in the face begin to break down, and the face gradually loses its volume. This process contributes to the formation of folds and wrinkles.

Gel treatments are used to both correct and slow the signs of ageing. This treatment helps refine your profile and support underlying structures. Gel treatments are most commonly used to:

  • Reduce cheek folds (nasolabial folds) .
  • Restore volume to the cheeks
  • Minimise dark circles under the eyes (tear troughs)
  • Rejuvenate lips that have lost volume and become thinner with time.
  • Correct the downturned corners of the lips (the marionette fold).
  • Smooth outlines around the lips (smoker’s lines).
  • Subtly reshape the nose to a more proportionate shape and size.

During an initial consultation, your practitioner will consider your reasons for treatment, as well as your needs, expectations and aesthetic goals. How the treatment is performed will be explained, along with the appropriate measures and aftercare instructions.

Results

After gel treatments, there is generally no downtime required. Typically, patients can return to work or do regular day-to-day activities immediately following the procedure. Some patients may experience mild swelling or bruising. Usually, this only lasts a few days.

Depending on the type of product used, the areas treated, and your skin habits, results may last from 6 to 24 months.

While gel treatments do not prevent ageing, they will provide support to the skin and underlying structures. Eventually, the natural ingredient in the product will break down and dissolve in the skin.

Pairing this treatment

Dr Liew’s combined skincare treatments and surgical and non-surgical treatments help patients restore energy and shape to their face without compromising proportion or natural movement.

Non surgical Treatment

Gel Treatment primarily serves to add volume to areas of the face; anti-wrinkle treatments help actively reduce the appearance of wrinkles and creases that form over time.

Pairing the treatment helps:

  • relax the muscles that produce the lines
  • subtly elevate the skin

The most common areas of treatment include:

  • crow’s feet
  • forehead lines
  • frown lines

Gel treatments and anti-wrinkle treatments are often combined. The result is a more comprehensive facial treatment.

Total Face Enhancement

A total face enhancement is a comprehensive procedure that addresses all parts of the face. In keeping with Shape Clinic’s vision, a total face enhancement combines a range of non surgical aesthetic treatments, machinery, laser and skincare treatments.
