Dermal Fillers Sydney

About Dermal Filler treatment

As we age, we begin losing volume in the face, which contributes to folds and wrinkles. In recent years, dermal fillers have gained unprecedented popularity in the cosmetic medicine market for their versatility in enhancing the face for all ages.

Using advanced techniques and the highest quality materials, Dr Liew and his team of injectors use dermal fillers to recapture your natural beauty and reveal its greatest aesthetic potential.

WHAT ARE DERMAL FILLERS?

Dermal fillers are aesthetic gel-based cosmetic treatments that are injected into the skin. They are a practical, non-surgical method designed to soften creases and folds, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and increase or restore volume to the face. Different grades of dermal fillers are used to treat different areas of the face, such as the lips, cheeks and under the eyes. At Shape Clinic, we only use the highest quality fillers: those that are scientifically proven, medically safe, biodegradable and reasonably long-lasting.

WHAT AREAS CAN BE TARGETED WITH DERMAL FILLERS?

With age, elastin and collagen in the face begin to break down, and the face gradually loses its volume. This process contributes to the formation of folds and wrinkles, giving the face a prematurely aged look.

Dermal fillers are used to both correct and slow the signs of ageing. This treatment helps refine your profile and support underlying structures that become worn with age. Dermal fillers are most commonly used to:

  • Reduce cheek folds (nasolabial folds) .
  • Restore volume to the cheeks
  • Minimise dark circles under the eyes (tear troughs)
  • Rejuvenate lip, which have lost volume and become thinner with time.
  • Correct the downturned corners of the lips (the marionette fold), which can portray a sad appearance.
  • Smooth outlines around the lips (smoker’s lines) may cause lipstick to bleed.
  • Subtly reshape the nose to a more proportionate shape and size.

During an initial consultation, your injector will consider your reasons for treatment, as well as your needs, expectations and aesthetic goals. How the treatment is performed will be explained, along with the appropriate measures and aftercare instructions.

Results

After the fillers are injected, there is generally no downtime required. Typically, patients can return to work or do regular day-to-day activities immediately following the procedure. Some patients may experience mild swelling or bruising. Usually, this only lasts a few days.

Depending on the type of fillers used, the areas treated, and your skin habits, results may last from 4 to 24 months.

While fillers do not prevent ageing, they will provide support to the skin and underlying structures. Eventually, the natural hyaluronic acid in the fillers will break down and  dissolve in the skin.

Pairing this treatment

Dr Liew’s combined skincare treatments and surgical and non-surgical treatments help patients restore energy and shape to their face without compromising proportion or natural movement.

Anti-Wrinkle Injections (non-surgical)

Dermal fillers primarily serve to add volume to areas of the face; anti-wrinkle injections help to actively reduce the appearance of wrinkles and creases that form over time.

Pairing the treatment helps:

  • correct the aged and fatigued appearance
  • relax the muscles that produce the lines
  • subtly elevate the skin for a tighter and smoother complexion

The most common areas of treatment include:

  • crow’s feet
  • forehead lines
  • frown lines

Dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections are often combined to produce a more fulfilling face rejuvenation. The result is a more comprehensive facial improvement and a younger-looking profile.

Total Face Enhancement

A total face enhancement is a comprehensive procedure that addresses all parts of the face. In harmony with Shape Clinic’s vision of holistic beauty, a total face enhancement combines a range of non surgical aesthetic treatments, machinery, laser and skincare treatments.
