Anti-Wrinkle Injections Sydney
We stress. We squint. We concentrate.
Alongside our normal ageing process, the facial expressions we use every day can also leave their mark. Even on days we feel vibrant and full of life, our wrinkles can tell a different story, making us seem sad, tired, even angry. In line with Shape’s aim to nurture, protect and honour the potential of our most natural beauty, anti-wrinkle injections can help smoothen the most troubled and stressed areas of the face.
A series of anti-wrinkle injections can erase and soften frown lines and crow’s feet around the eyes, while also softening chin creases and smoothing out neck banding. Following your personalised beauty plan, this treatment can provide a natural, rejuvenated appearance that still allows you to smile and express yourself as normal. Through anti-wrinkling injections, Shape Clinic’s mission is to capture the harmony, grace and symmetry of your face without compromising its motion.
The ultimate aim is to remind you how it feels to honour and love your image and sense of self. Shape’s anti-wrinkle injections can help you unearth your best facial fabric while maintaining the free movement of its natural expression.
HOW DO ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS WORK?
The anti-wrinkle serum works by temporarily blocking the signal impulse between the nerve endings and the facial muscles while weakening the muscle that produces facial lines. In effect, the treatment relaxes and lifts the tissue, softening the look of lines and displaying a subtly tighter and smoother appearance.
The procedure takes approximately five to 10 minutes, and results last for up to four to six months (individual results may vary). Initially, treatments will be needed every four to six months, but fewer procedures are required as time passes. Over time, anti-wrinkle injections will serve to relax muscle movement and alleviate facial lines. In some cases, frowning habits can be erased entirely.
IS IT SAFE?
Anti-wrinkle injections have been used for cosmetic, as well as medical purposes for well over a decade. The process has a long track record of safety and requires no downtime post- treatment. While there may be some short-term redness, swelling or mild bruising, there are generally few side effects to anti-wrinkling treatment.
The qualified and well-experienced specialists at Shape Clinic are committed to providing a very personal level of care. The procedure takes place in a safe and welcoming environment, and you are treated by a highly dedicated and proficient team. As an internationally recognised centre in the plastic and cosmetic industry, Shape provides exceptional care and ensures that patients are always in safe and expert hands.
CANDIDATES FOR ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS
To age gracefully, we must feel confident in our skin. We must embrace what is necessary to maintain this confidence, courage and sense of self, so to grant our growing selves every opportunity to feel beautiful. Ageing endows us with wisdom, yet troubles us with lines and wrinkles. And over time, as this life experience reflects on our skin, the stress and tension that comes with this can leave us with a diminished self-assurance, withdrawn social activity and a loss of faith in our beauty.
If ageing has narrowed your self-confidence and overall happiness, anti-wrinkling injections might be the key to regenerating your mental wellbeing. As a matter of feeling beautiful, ageing gracefully means loving and honouring who you are so that this inner beauty and resulting happiness reflects effortlessly on your face. Anti-wrinkling injections can help you rediscover this inner beauty, allowing you to regain the self-belief and poise with which you hope to age.
If you are contemplating an anti-wrinkle treatment, you can relax in the safe and skillful hands of our Shape cosmetic practitioners, who have the experience and aesthetic ability to ensure you are never over-treated – an approach which can result in the all too common ‘frozen face’ appearance. Our specialists will work with you to achieve a holistic beauty plan that will nurture and revivify your natural appearance. Effectively, the anti- wrinkling treatment will leave you with a pure, proportional and revitalised look.
The most common facial areas for anti-wrinkle treatments are found in the top third of the face:
- Crows feet
- Forehead lines
- Frown lines
- Eyebrow lift
- Eyelid droopiness
However, anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to address other types of facial concerns, including but not limited to a gummy smile, chin dimpling and wrinkling (also known as Peau d’Orange), and facial slimming. Functionally, anti-wrinkle injection treatments can also help with tooth grinding, clenching and the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ) .Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to control excessive sweating in the armpits (hyperhidrosis).
TYPES OF WRINKLES & TREATMENTS
What are dynamic wrinkles?
Dynamic wrinkles appear as a result of facial expressions. When facial muscles contract, the skin over those muscles stretches to accommodate. So natural emotions such as fear, joy, sadness, worry or surprise are just some of the expressions that affect the firmness of your facial skin. These wrinkles are noticed most when you smile, laugh, frown, cry or during moments of deep concentration. The most common dynamic wrinkles include frown lines (between the eyebrows), forehead lines and crow’s feet.
Treatment: Anti-wrinkle injections are used to treat dynamic wrinkles, particularly around the eyes and on the forehead. This treatment helps to relax and smoothen lines that are caused by repetitive muscle movements. The muscle-relaxing injectable targets tissue below the skin surface and temporarily paralyses the source of the movement. This process serves to soften the look of wrinkles and subtly tighten areas of the face to create a natural, balanced facial composition.
WHAT ARE STATIC WRINKLES?
Static wrinkles are caused by gravity, the loss of fat and collagen, and therefore the loss of the skin’s elasticity. These types of lines are visible regardless of muscle action and tend to develop over time. If untreated, dynamic wrinkles eventually become static, which are most commonly the result of facial movements, static forces such as gravity, and chronological ageing. As well as frown and forehead lines, static wrinkles can also appear as nasolabial folds (deep lines that run from the nose to the side of the mouth) and marionette lines (start at the corners of the mouth and go down toward the jawline).
Treatment: Dermal fillers are typically used to address static wrinkles. In addition to smoothing out dreaded lines (also known as smoker’s lines) and erasing cheek folds, this treatment can also be useful for replacing lost volume and re-plumping facial tissue. Dermal fillers are commonly used to enhance, redefine and rejuvenate lips, reinflate cheeks that have lost mass, and reduce dark circles (tear trough) under the eyes.
Shape Clinic uses scientifically proven, medically safe and biodegradable dermal fillers. To learn more about this treatment and how you can restore volume to your face, see our page on Dermal Fillers.
PAIRING THIS TREATMENT
Shape’s vision is to establish a holistic beauty plan that centres and expands on your most natural beauty. Through artfully combined skincare treatments and procedures, Shape can restore energy and life to your face without compromising on proportion or natural movement. The aim is to find the treatments that will work best for you, your circumstances and stage of life, ultimately encouraging you to embrace your best-looking, most confident growing self.
Dermal fillers and anti-wrinkling injections are often used together to achieve a more fulfilling rejuvenation of the face. The two treatments cooperate to both clear the face of wrinkles and lines and restore the volume that naturally diminishes over time. When completed in conjunction, the result accentuates the face’s natural features and enlivens the skin to appear youthful and revitalised.

Since the ageing process encompasses all parts of the face, achieving a complete rejuvenation may be the best way for you to approach treatment. In line with Shape’s vision, a total face enhancement addresses the face as a whole, rather than a collection of separate parts. Pioneered by Dr Liew, this treatment embraces the face’s features in unity, and serves to re-sculpt and ultimately restore all facial features to achieve an aesthetically ideal oval shape.
Through new non-surgical procedures, such as lower face and jawline re-sculpting, a total face enhancement can help you attain a more glamorous, harmonious appearance. To learn more about this treatment, see our page on Total Face Enhancement.
